Nilay Patel / Engadget: Samsung E6 e-reader coming to Barnes and Noble this spring for $299  —  Samsung still hasn’t committed to a formal launch date for the e-reader line it launched at CES, but the company narrowed down the launch date from “early 2010” to “this spring” this morning — which makes sense, seeing as spring has nearly, uh, sprung.

Chevron Sheds Early Losses on Plans to Cut 2,000 Refining Jobs; S…

02:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, 03/09/2010 (MidnightTrader) — Chevron Corp. (CVX) has erased a morning loss and is clinging to positive territory after announcing plans today to cut 2,000 jobs to counter problems in its gasoline and diesel refining business. The problems could continue for the next year. The stock opened down 34 cents at $74.30 and shed another nickel to hit a low of $74.25. Shares fought their way back and broke into positive territory around mid-day, hitting a high of $74.91 before falling back to near even, up 0.09%. More charges are likely afterward because reductions will occur through 2011. Separately, Chevron plans to boost its production by about 1% a year for the next four years, as it ramps up mega-projects such as the Gorgon LNG facility in Western Australia. Acting White

Friday, March 05, 2010 #7 Blacks and Talking In Movies Poor Blacks talk in movies, and not just to each other. Oddly, they talk and/or about the people on the screen, as if a response is somehow possible. The non-Black and non-poor find this rude. I would agree. That’s why I am very selective about theaters and attendance times. A White guy in Philly capped a brother for talking in Benjamin Button – I guess it really pissed him off (here). Philly’s a tough town.So then, what’s up? First off, Black folks have no corner on the rudeness market. Rudeness is up everywhere. Don’t believe me? Check out the study (here). White kids are rude, even when they’re not imitating Black kids. Discipline is down, acting out is up. However, when poor folks act up people really get in a snit, because if you are poor in America, you are supposed to be quiet and unobtrusive. Poor Whites got that memo, poor Black folks did not. Also, to the MSM, White ignorance is embarrassin

Orthofix, which is based in the Netherlands Antilles, will also provide transitional services to Covidien, based in Dublin, Ireland, for up to five months.
