Why Do African-americans Have Lighter Skin On Their Palms And Feet Than On The Rest Of Their Body?

Why do African-Americans have lighter skin on their palms and feet? I realise it is genetics, but why and how did this trait develop? Please note that I am asking out of curiosity and no racism is intended in any way.

  1. n.d. says:

it’s not just black people, but it’s noticeable in them.
pigment and hair cannot exist in certain areas of the body.
palms and feet are some of those sections.
I can’t say why because I am not intelligent enough.
or at least, the answer lies in the internet,
and I don’t see how I can adequately compress it
into a neat and tiny understandable answer. Sorry
