1Answers from the anti-scientists are so silly. No one goes into climate science because they have a political agenda, there are much easier and more effective ways to go into politics than to spend 10 years in school studying advanced math, geophysical fluid dynamics, oceanography, etc.
One answer claims that “people that study hurricanes have 0% accuracies predicting them.” Now, I assume he’s talking about seasonal forecasting, since short-term forecasting has become more and more accurate (there was plenty of advanced warning for Katrina). Who is the pioneer of seasonal hurricane forecasting, the “go-to” guy for forecasts? Well, it’s William Gray of course, the hurricane expert that does not believe in AGW.
Another answer thinks that scientists that measure CO2 in Hawaii are just enjoying time in paradise. It’s obvious that the answerer has not been there (I have). It’s very remote, on top of a mountain with nothing growing on it. You have to drive through miles and miles of nothing but unvegetated lava flows. It’s no resort and very tedious painstaking work. Everyone in the world owes Charles David Keeling a debt of gratitude for doing this 50 years, and Roger Revelle for hiring him to do it A friend of mine just got back from 6 weeks drilling ice cores in the West Antarctic Divide, another garden spot. How about trying to rapidly deploy GPS and weather stations at the coldest, windiest places on Earth, sound like fun?
Also amusing are the people that have recently tried to claim they have advanced degrees on here–one claimed to have bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics, but if he did, it’s a real indictment of our educational system, because it sure didn’t take.

2It’s in style because global warming denial is in style. When almost all of the scientific experts say one thing and you don’t want to believe it, you have to find a reason why they might be wrong.
Usually people cook up conspiracy theories, saying the experts are just all in on a massive fraud. That way you can completely dismiss their scientific findings without having to disprove them.
Or you can come up with some completely simple argument (i.e. the Sun is to blame) and pretend that somehow the scientific experts are just idiots who haven’t considered this obvious possibility.
Basically people are just very good at finding ways to believe what they want to believe. If that takes pretending that climate scientists are idiots or part of some massive conspiracy, then some people will manage to convince themselves that this is the case.

3Sara Palin aside, supposedly there is a “consensus” about global warming and that it is man made and so if it is made by man it can be corrected by man. This so called consensus is not based on any analytical studies or science. At one time there was a consensus that the earth was flat and you could sail off it’s end. There is no credible long term study based upon science. Think about this. How do we really know what the temperatures were 200, 300 or 400 years ago. The instruments used back then were not accurate and so what is believed to be mean temperatures back then could actually be off several degrees. Also even 400 years of data however accurate, would not be significant in comparing climate changes which can cycle anywhere from 10,000 to 30,000 years. Lasdtly , I have read plenty of climatologists and scientists that do not believe to the earth is warming. The science does not support this belief.

4In environmentalism, you can’t tell the truth or people will ignore you. You can’t say I’m concerned that increasing concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere may have unforeseen negative consequences in the future. This generation of believers certainly didn’t invent the environmental movement, the catch cry of previous generations has been “It’s no exaggeration to say, The Earth is Dying” or something like that.
If you agree with all the environmental scare campaigns that come along, you are failing to notice a pattern.
When global warming is forgotten and the next big scare campaign comes along and sure enough the Earth is Dying again from something else this time, you may have to explain to your kids, why you think you know more than the relevant experts.

5Well obviously any blogger knows more about climatology than any climatologist. Also climatologists are all politically motivated and their results and data are manipulated so that they become the richest and most powerful group on the planet. This is all part of their plan for world domination. World Domination 101 is a required course for all climatology students.

6I never want to see a day when being right goes out of style….and these aren’t “remote locations”, they’re exotic travel destinations:http://unfccc.int/meetings/archive/items…

Taking co2 readings in Hawaii MUST be tough:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauna_Loa_O…
I thought, for sure, the Sun can be observed from pretty much every location on Earth. Why then can’t these “experts” see the link between observed solar activity and observed climate change? They can’t come up with a mathematical explanation for it, so they ignore the observation?? Where is THAT taught in science today??

7It is because they are leftists with a political agenda. Thanks for making it clear that you are as well. The vast majority of “climatologists” wouldn’t be doing what they are doing if they weren’t there to study global warming because that is where the money is spent. If they don’t find a problem, they don’t get paid.

8It is more we know enough to comprehend the doom and gloom scenarios propagated by the media wise proponents of global warming are scientifically impossible. Not one of the assumptions made in the AGW concept proposal has been shown to have any factual basis and so far the truth has shown their proposals to be exactly opposite of all scientific tests. This is why the number of scientists is now mostly skeptical and growing. The quantity scientists that support AGW is rapidly shrinking as quality information reaches them.

10I don’t. But you do not have to be a climatologist to see that many of them are trying to push through a political agenda. You also do not have to be a climatologist to see that a seven year cooling trend puts a severe doubt in the AGW hypothesis.http://icecap.us/images/uploads/ALL_SINC…
I just choose to trust other experts who do not share that view.http://www.heartland.org/policybot/resul…

11So, seriously, if it’s something with a leftist bias, and an anti-right, anti capitalism, anti-industry bias then it’s okay and true. I get it.
I’d like to take your statement of opinion seriously, but it’s just a microstep above the most shallow of opinions I’ve seen here.

12Certainly climatologists know more, but we also know that long range climate predictions have low accuracies.
